Standard Life become Learn My Way supporters

Standard Life is joining our fight against digital exclusion by promoting Learn My Way to their millions of customers.

We’re delighted to announce that Standard Life is joining our fight against digital exclusion by supporting us to promote Learn My Way to their millions of customers. This support is greatly needed as  10.2m people lack the most basic digital skills needed to access the online world

Standard Life is part of Phoenix Group, who are completing an audit of its websites and apps across the group. They support millions of customers to secure their financial future to and through retirement so that they can live a life of possibilities. Standard Life is a ‘digital first’ organisation and is committed to using technology to benefit customers, offering support to ensure customers can use digital services.

Sangita Chawla, Chief Marketing Officer at Standard Life says:

“We know that while many have embraced the opportunities provided by technology, for others, there is a lot of fear and anxiety when it comes to going digital. Our goal is to support these customers by delivering innovative solutions that are easily accessible for everyone, while also finding ways to help our customers improve their digital literacy and feel empowered to get online.

“Working in partnership with other organisations is another way we support our customers, and we’re excited to work with the Good Things Foundation and promote the Learn My Way initiative. This is a great resource for people who want to build their confidence when it comes to accessing essential online services and gain basic digital skills.”

Natasha Bright-Wray, Associate Director of Communications Campaigns and Advocacy, Good Things Foundation says:

“We’re thrilled that Standard Life is supporting Good Things’ mission by promoting Learn My Way to their customers. As more services move online, we know some people will struggle with this transition and we’re pleased to see Standard Life helping their customers to develop their skills to access services safely online. This kind of support is invaluable in ensuring we build a more inclusive digital world in which everyone has the skills and confidence to access the internet. An estimated 5.8 million people will be digitally excluded in 2032 without intervention in building basic digital skills. That’s why we must act now, and this kind of support plays a vital role in helping Good Things Foundation to achieve our mission of engaging 1 million people by 2025.”

Standard Life’s new digital inclusion strategy aims to reduce the barriers to being online. This includes a digital skills hubs for customers on their website for customers to access and learn online in their own time, signposting to Good Things’ free online learning platform, Learn My Way
