Chad Bond

Deputy Director, Head of Service, GDS

Chad is currently Deputy Director at the Government Digital Service (GDS) within the Cabinet Office. GDS was established to help the government make digital services and information simpler, clearer and faster for users. Chad is proud to be ‘helping government use tech to deliver what users want, when they need it’. Prior to this, he held several civilian roles in the Metropolitan Police Service.

Outside of his day job, Chad has also established a partnership with Origin Housing Association which sees him organise the provision of volunteers from across the Civil Service. These Digital Champions deliver free 1-1 training sessions to residents of one of north London’s most deprived communities who need help using computers and the internet.

Roy recently returned from New Zealand where he held the post of Director of the Auckland War Memorial Museum.
