Helen Milner OBE named one of UK’s most influential people in technology
Good Things Foundation is proud to share that Helen Milner OBE, its Group Chief Executive, has been named one of UKtech50 2025 – Computer Weekly’s top 10 most influential people in UK technology.
Now in its 15th year, the UKtech50 recognises leaders who are making a real impact on the development of technology across the UK economy, public services, and wider society. Helen’s inclusion reflects her long-standing commitment to digital inclusion, and her work ensuring that everyone – regardless of income or background – has access to the digital tools, skills, and support they need.
The 2025 list was selected by a panel of independent judges and through a public vote, based on criteria including leadership, influence, and positive impact on the UK tech landscape.
Helen appears alongside leaders in AI, data, government digital services, and tech policy. Her inclusion highlights growing recognition of digital inclusion as a national priority. Good Things Foundation’s initiatives - the National Databank, National Device Bank and Learn My Way, free digital skills training - are delivered through the National Digital Inclusion Network.
Helen said: “I am blown away to find out that I’ve been named the 9th most influential person in UK technology, thanks to Computer Weekly’s judges and readers!
I’ve been working in digital inclusion for 20 years and it’s motivating to know that our work at Good Things is making a significant impact. This achievement isn't just mine, it belongs to my incredible team and Board, to the individuals and communities that make up the National Digital Inclusion Network, and everyone who's supported our journey.
It’s an honour to also be highlighted as the number one female founder, alongside other brilliant female founders, representing a diversifying sector that's changing for the better. It’s not always been easy, in fact, it’s often a white knuckle rollercoaster! I’m so proud to be leading the way and excited to keep pushing boundaries, innovating and preparing people for our digital future.”
