Crossing the Digital Divide: Lindsey's story
From relying on paper to receiving a device from the National Device Bank, Lindsey's life has transformed thanks to Riverside Learning and Education Centre.
Before receiving a device, Lindsey relied on paper - which took her "so long."
She has been connected to the Riverside Learning and Education Centre in Liverpool since she was 15.
Lindsey credits the hub - part of the National Digital Inclusion Network - with giving her vital access to digital tools and support.
She said:
"...I've actually grown up with the hub. If it wasn't for the hub I don't know where I would be."
With her new laptop from the National Device Bank, Lindsey has been able to complete tasks more efficiently.
She also used our free digital skills platform Learn My Way.
Through the hub, Lindsey completed a Level 3 Teaching Assistant course - something she initially doubted she could achieve.
Thanks to the support she received from the hub, Lindsey developed her confidence and gained the qualification.
This led to full-time employment, transforming her professional life.
The impact extended to Lindsey's home as well: her family have benefitted from the device too.
