Take action on digital exclusion

This morning, the Group CEO of Good Things Foundation, Helen Milner OBE, has reached out to FTSE 250 companies, urging them to take action on digital exclusion and partner with the UK’s leading digital inclusion charity.

Following the launch of the UK Government’s Digital Inclusion Action Plan, making a clear commitment to addressing digital inclusion - Helen challenges companies to do the same.

The letter coincides with two major announcements from us today.

Engaging one million people

First, we have reached our ambitious target of engaging one million people through our 2022–2025 digital inclusion strategy – an achievement delivered eight months ahead of schedule.

We have delivered the ABC of digital inclusion: helping over one million people with Affordable Access to data and devices alongside Basic Digital Skills, delivered through Community Support thanks to the National Digital Inclusion Network of community partners and supporters.

Helen Milner OBE, Group CEO, Good Things Foundation said:

“This is a major milestone for digital inclusion. One million people who are now benefiting from the digital world, they are healthier, happier and better off. Good Things Foundation has not achieved this alone, but alongside a powerful coalition of community organisations and partners. Government has prioritised digital inclusion, now we need business to step up too. We’re calling on FTSE 250 leaders to be part of this next chapter. Let’s work together to reach the next million.”

Helen has invited the leaders of the FTSE 250 to act now on digital inclusion - to ensure their customers are ready for our digital future - by working with Good Things Foundation, a charity with a proven model, national reach, and a growing network of over 7,000 community organisations delivering real change.

Launching Get Online Week 2025

Second, we are launching our date for our flagship annual campaign: Get Online Week 2025, taking place from 20–26 October 2025.

The campaign brings together communities, partners and supporters across the UK to shine a light on the digital divide - and the action being taken to close it.

Across the UK and in Australia, community partners are hosting events during the campaign to encourage local people to try one thing - from video calling a family member, to safely setting up online banking, or sharing a meme with a friend.

Partner with us to fix the UK digital divide whilst making a powerful contribution towards your environmental, social and governance strategy.
