Good Things Foundation, the UK’s leading digital inclusion charity, has announced a new initiative to make it easier for local authorities to ensure everyone can participate in our digital society.
Working in Barnsley, Cornwall and Middlesborough, Good Things Foundation aims to create a lasting legacy rooted in lived experience.
Building on the best practice examples from local authorities and community organisations across the country, the project combines Good Things Foundation’s extensive experience with local expertise.
From pilot to national framework
The pilot involves the co-creation of national insights and tools - including a freely accessible framework that can be used by local authorities and community partners, and a report from Good Things Foundations’ What Works? Co-Lab to share lessons learned.
Good Things Foundation's Chief Executive, Helen Milner said:
“To ensure everyone can participate in our digital society, we need to bake in, not bolt on digital inclusion - and that starts in communities. Working alongside our trusted local partners the Hope Foundation, Cosmic and Forge Community Partnership, we’ll capture the real life barriers people face. Our evidence-led work with councils will create a blueprint that any local authority can use - boosting digital inclusion across the country.”
The project is funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology’s (DSIT) Digital Inclusion Innovation Fund.
