Bake in, don't bolt on: our digital inclusion policy asks for party conference season 2025

Good Things Foundation's 5 key digital inclusion policy asks for political parties this conference season. From AI-ready vision to ending the postcode lottery - discover our policy priorities for a digitally inclusive UK.

Since the launch of the UK Government’s Digital Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP), Good Things Foundation have worked closely with the National Digital Inclusion Network to advocate for policies designed for a digital society that everyone can participate in.

This included inputting into the Deptartment for Science, Innovation and Technology’s Call for Evidence response on behalf of the DIAP, and continued sessions across the summer to ensure Good Things’ centred digital inclusion hub voices in their political advocacy - primarily, our policy asks.

A huge thank you to the hubs that participate in our policy sessions; as we go into the political party conference season we keep their views in mind, and ask the UK Government to bake-in, not bolt on, digital inclusion:

  • Lead with vision: Set a bold, future-focused vision for a digitally included UK in the age of AI, across all departments and underpinning all Missions.
  • Deliver online public services that work for everyone: Embed digital inclusion into the transformation of Government services.
  • End the postcode lottery: Co-invest to expand the National Digital Inclusion Network, to remove gaps in digital inclusion support due to geographical and societal inequalities.
  • Seize big moments for big impact: Lead cross-sector action so that big infrastructure changes create a more inclusive society and increase value for the public.
  • Innovate funding for inclusive growth: Be bold and drive systemic change with innovative economic mechanisms for digital inclusion, so everyone can participate in a digital society - now and in the future.
