Role description
An opportunity to be part of a dynamic social change charity, working at scale across the UK.
Good Things Foundation is the UK’s leading digital inclusion charity. Our mission is to fix the digital divide. Through our National Digital Inclusion Network of hyperlocal partners, we are supporting people and communities to overcome some of the most pressing social challenges they are facing through digital.
As Research and Data Officer at Good Things Foundation you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of our impact and evaluation work that helps us tell the story of who we are helping and the difference we are making both to individuals and community partners. The Officer will make a
significant contribution to the organisation and administration of research and evaluation activities across the Research and Data Insights Team, as well as helping collect and interpret data on our impact.
We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic individual who is good at making sense of different kinds of data and information, likes to understand why people do what they do, and enjoys working out how to communicate our learning effectively to others. You will be approachable and empathetic and be comfortable talking to people from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences.
Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research approaches will be valuable, but we will also give you the opportunity to develop your research experience further on the job.
You will provide support to members of the team, work with the data you collect to help build knowledge and understanding, and identify insights about the way our model works and the difference that it is making. Working alongside our Research and Evaluation Manager and Data Analyst, you will
help draw knowledge together to build an evidence base that supports decision making. There may also be opportunities to support our policy and advocacy work, for example helping conduct policy-focused desk research, and contributing to our responses to ‘calls to evidence’.
The work you do will contribute to our internal impact measurement and learning, and also to the evaluation of externally-funded programmes and projects. You will also play a vital role in supporting ad hoc research projects and insight gathering, and in fostering a culture of learning across the
organisation.
We would particularly like to hear from candidates whose professional and personal experience will bring new perspectives, understanding and capacity to the organisation.
