Good Things Foundation began delivering the English My Way programme in November 2013, working with BBC Learning English and the British Council. Funded by The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) as part of their English Language competition, the programme aims to help people who struggle to access local community aid by supporting people facing significant language barriers and integration challenges to improve their English language skills through a fresh approach to Pre-entry ESOL.

This evaluation report comprises learnings that can be adopted across the ESOL and community learning sectors.

Phase 3 of English My Way focussed on:

  • Assisting isolated women to improve their English language skills
  • Helping community partners in their delivery – through capacity building, identifying best practice, progression routes and programme/product development.
