For the last three years, thanks to funding from the Prince’s Countryside Fund, we’ve worked together with three Online Centres to bring digital skills and confidence to small businesses, community organisations and individuals in some of the most rural areas of England.
Taking advantage of digital can be difficult in rural locations, with many barriers to overcome, including poor internet connection, lack of digital support and increasing travel costs. That’s why it’s more important than ever for Online Centres to provide support to those who otherwise wouldn’t be able to get online.
The toolkit is for individuals or organisations starting a project supporting rural businesses with digital skills. It contains tried and tested recommended resources and is a first step to helping rural businesses grow.
