Be the change – join Good Things Foundation

We need people like you to help Good Things Foundation build bigger and better, writes Francesca Coleman, Head of Partnerships and Fundraising.

Over the past eighteen months the Covid-19 pandemic has brought many changes to our lives. For Good Things Foundation it brought more understanding of the concept of digital exclusion from the general public than ever before. Whilst the media was filled with stories of families not being able to support their children with online learning, or individuals being unable to keep in touch with loved ones due to a lack of digital skills or tech, we responded with a call to action for individuals and organisations to help us get people the support and devices they so vitally needed. We were overwhelmed by the support we received from individuals, businesses, and trusts and foundations. Our call-out raised enough money to distribute thousands of devices through our network of community partners to digitally excluded people, giving them the skills and confidence to use them in their lives.

This confirmed what we already knew – that digital exclusion is a huge problem that needs fixing, but that we can only do it with the support and partnership of others. We’ve benefitted from the support of some amazing people and organisations already, but to continue to support the millions of people that desperately need essential digital skills we need more.

So what next?

We’ve formed a new Partnerships and Fundraising team to build on our successes as an organisation – managing our existing relationships with supporters and donors and building new ones. It’s a crucial team for Good Things Foundation – leading all aspects of fundraising, business development and partnerships – capitalising on recent public interest and engagement. And we’re on the lookout for new people to join our team.

We want committed, passionate experienced people who can support the development of our fundraising strategy and business development plans and expertly deliver them. We’re an ambitious and supportive team who are at an exciting stage in our development – we all play a role in how we design and deliver fundraising activities, to ultimately help us deliver the Good Things Foundation mission to close the digital divide. This mirrors our culture as an organisation – we work collaboratively whilst also letting people use their skills and expertise autonomously.

We’re currently working from home whilst we find a new office in Sheffield, but are planning to work in a hybrid way in the near future. As a team we see the importance in coming together, but also know working from home has many benefits. We’re committed to the development of our employees and carve out the time for this. We’re also open to remote working arrangements and flexible working – if you’re the right person for the team we want you!
